Tiempo de Adviento

Falta menos de un mes para celebrar la Navidad. Cuatro semanas. Y a este tiempo lo llamamos con esa palabra: Adviento, que significa tiempo de espera y de preparacion; pero no es una espera pasiva, inoperante, sino una espera activa, como el que va preparando un acontecimiento importante. Y ese acontecimiento es nada menos que celebrar, que un día Dios perdió un poco la cabeza, y se decidió a hacerse hombre para enseñarnos como debemos vivir para ser felices. Y Dios se hizo Jesús. Y como se hizo hombre”en todo semejante al hombre, menos en el pecado” como dice San Pablo, pues tuvo que nacer de una mujer, como todos los humanos.
Y ese nacimiento, esa natividad, esa Navidad, es lo que celebramos , y para lo que nos prepaamos durante el adviento. Hay quien prepara la Navidad, ahorrando para hacer , cuando llegue, unos gastos extraordinarios, porque no caen en la cuenta de lo que supone Navidad. No está mal celebrar con algún extraordinario, si se puede, como se hace con las fiestas familiar. Pero la preparación de Navidad, tiene otro estilo, otro carácter, otro modo de hacer. Se trata de preparar bien el corazón, de preparar nuestras actitudes con los demás, de ir llenándonos de esperanza, porque ha llegado nuestra liberación. Porque el Salvador se ha hecho como nosotros, para que nosotros podamos parecernos a él.
Porque Jesús vino al mundo para enseñarnos a vivir como hermanos bien avenidos, responsables los unos de los otros, queriéndonos y ayudándonos como hijos de un mismo Padre, y por tanto como familia unida. Pero ¿cómo podemos hacer esa preparación en estas cuatro semanas? Tratando de desplazar de nosotros aquello que ofende o no ayuda a los demás: la violencia, la venganza, las riñas y enemistades, el egoismo que no nos permite compartir con generosidad. Dándole a Dios un poco más de tiempo, en la oración. Haciendo obras de caridad: atender a los ancianos, a los enfermos , a los débiles… Sabiendo perdonar, siendo misericordiosos. Pero todo eso no es tan fácil cumplirlo, como decirlo. Por eso necesitamos ayuda; y esa ayuda hay que pedirla. ¿A quién? A quien nos puede dar su fuerza, su gracia… al Señor, que es Padre y es todopoderoso. Como método práctico, sería interesante, al final del día, analizar cómo nos hemos comportado en esos u otros puntos que creamos más comvenientes. Eso yuda mucho. Comencemos el Adviento.
