¿De dónde vengo, y adónde voy?
Mi respuesta a la eterna y transcendental pregunta es la siguiente: Vengo de la acción amorosa del Dios creador, y me dirijo hacia el encuentro misericordioso del Dios Padre. Ese es mi origen y ese mi destino. Un origen y un destino divinos; el origen y destino de un proyecto providente, que hace de mi humanidad transitoria y fugaz, una historia, al mismo tiempo perecedera y eterna.
Esta es mi convicción profunda y confiada: salimos de Dios y retornamos a Dios. Luego, vendrá la ciencia, participación humana de la sabiduría divina, y me dirá que venimos del cosmos, que somos “polvo de estrellas”. Y también llevará razón, porque no está reñido con lo anterior.
Más tarde vendrá la antropología, la arqueología, la paleontología, la astrología, y otras ciencias auxiliares, y darán su versión siempre parcial, su intuición más atrevida, sus certezas y sus dudas, y pondrán música y letra a toda la teoría de la evolución, iniciada por Darwin.
Y yo estaré de acuerdo, porque la ciencia humana no puede oponerse al que es su origen y autor. Pero seguiré teniendo la certeza de que procedo de Dios, y a Dios me dirijo, como las diminutas raspaduras del metal, atraídas con fuerza inexorable por el imán. Y no existe contradicción en sus términos, porque la “evolución” no es propiamente “creación”; es más bien, “desarrollo”. O, si se prefiere, creación continuada, sin saltos en el tiempo.
Las distintas etapas de transformación del cosmos en general, de nuestro planeta tierra en particular, y de las especies, incluida la especie “hombre”, no son sino la parte mediática de la acción creadora del Dios omnipotente y amoroso. Como expresa acertadamente el apóstol Juan: “Dios es amor”, y crea por amor.
Sé que no son pocos los que dudan del “más allá”, o lo niegan categórica y gratuitamente. Pero sólo los ciegos podrían negar el horizonte, porque no pudieran verlo. Así también pululan otros muchos, cuya ceguera interior les impide ver más allá de lo inmediato y lo tangible.
