La dignidad de la persona
Todos gozamos de una gran dignidad, por ser personas, y somos merecedores del mayor respeto y atención. La acepción de personas, rompe la igualdad que existe entre las personas. Dios no tiene acepción de personas, sino que a todos respeta y quiere igual. A nadie desprecia o minusvalora.
“Habéis oído que se dijo:”Ama a tu amigo, y odia a tu enemigo. Pero yo os digo: amad a vuestros enemigos y rezad por quienes os persiguen, para que seáis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en el cielo. Él hace que salga el sol sobre malos y buenos; y hace llover sobre justos e injustos. Si amáis solo a quienes os aman, ¿qué mérito tenéis? ¿Acaso no hacen eso, también, los pecadores? Y si saludáis solamente a vuestros hermanos ¿qué mérito tenéis? ¿No hacen eso, también, los gentiles? (Mt. 5, 38 y ss).
Es consolador y tranquilizante, saber de labios de Jesús, que Dios, como Padre que es de todos, a todos trata con el mismo respeto y el mismo amor. Nadie se tiene que sentir menos querido. Ha creado el sol y la lluvia para todos igual.
Dios ama a los buenos por serlo, y a los malos, para que lo sean. En realidad, Dios ama a unos y a otros, porque Él es bueno, y no hace distinciones entre sus hijos. Eso nos debe dar una gran tranquilidad y una no menor alegría.
Los hombres, somos caprichosos, y muchas veces injustos, a la hora de tratar a unos o a otros. Distinguimos entre los que nos caen bien y los que nos caen mal; entre los amigos y los enemigos; entre los familiares, y los que no lo son. Y según eso, usamos un baremo u otro al relacionarnos con ellos.
Jesús dice: “¿Qué merito tenéis en querer a los vuestros o a los que os quieren? ¿Qué mérito tenéis en saludar a los que os caen bien? Eso lo hacen, incluso, las peores gentes.
También nos dice que tenemos que amar a nuestros enemigos. Y para que veamos que eso, tan difícil, es posible, Él mismo nos dio ejemplo. Le están clavando en la cruz, le han azotado anteriormente, se han burlado de Él, lo han condenado sin juicio y sin motivo, y, a pesar de todo, le dice al Padre:”Perdónalos, porque no saben lo que hacen”. Perdón para todos, desde Judas, pasando por los apóstoles que le abandonan en el momento que más necesita que le acompañen; continuando por Pilatos, los sumos sacerdotes, la chusma versátil que le traiciona y vocifera para que lo crucifiquen, etc. Para todos pide perdón al Padre. ¿No saben lo que hacen? Y no olvidemos que todos ellos eran, en ese momento, enemigos. Reza por ellos.
No estaría mal, que, de vez en cuando, nos analizásemos para ver por quién rezamos nosotros. ¿Rezamos, también, por nuestros enemigos, por los que no nos quieren bien, o nos desprecian, y por aquellos que consideramos malos, injustos, pecadores?
Si queremos parecernos a Jesús, tenemos que intentar amar a nuestros enemigos, y rezar por ellos.
