Domingo XXIV del Tiempo Ordinario
(Hay fiesta en el cielo cuando un pecador se convierte)
Nos dice el Evangelio que los publicanos y los pecadores se acercaban a Jesús “para escucharle”. Los publicanos eran considerados como pecadores. Seguro que Jesús los acogía con cariño, con respeto, sin despreciarlos. Sin embargo los que se creían mejores, los fariseos y otros, los criticaban. Y además se atrevían a murmurar contra Jesús, porque los acogía con misericordia, ofreciéndoles el perdón, y su cariño. Decían los fariseos, hablando de Jesús: “ese acoge a los pecadores y come con ellos”.
Una vez más, Jesús se encara con esa gente que se creen los mejores, los puros, los que todo lo hace bien, y les da una buena lección. Les pone dos parábolas muy sencillas, para que comprendan que vale la pena estar cerca y buscar a los despreciados por los demás, para ayudarles a salir de su situación. Dice Jesús que si un pastor pierde una oveja, deja las demás a resguardo y va a buscar a la perdida hasta que la encuentra. O si una mujer muy pobre, pierde parte de su dinero, lo busca por toda la casa, hasta que lo encuentra.
Y eso es lo que hace Jesús: salir al encuentro de los que nadie aprecia, de los que son considerados pecadores y marginados. Esa es la imagen del Buen Pastor, buscando a la oveja pedida y colocándola sobre sus hombros para llevarla nuevamente al redil. Ese es Jesús.
