¿Casualidad o contagio?
Casi al tiempo que veía la película de Abenámar, AGORA, terminaba la lectura de la novela FATIMA, de Ildefonso Falcones. Por esos días la prensa me sirvió la noticia de la presentación de CAÍN, de Saramago y varias entrevistas con el premio Nóbel.
Me llamó la atención una serie de coincidencias que, con otras noticias de fondo surgidas en esos días, me hicieron pensar si todo era fruto de casualidades o, por el contrario, obedecían a un contagio general.
Soy poco dado a ver fantasmas y a pensar que el mundo es una marioneta en manos de señores de caperuza y “doctores NO”, pero tampoco quiero pecar de ingenuo y descartar que en nuestro mundo hay grupos de presión, “internacionales” de todo tipo, centros de opinión y redes manipuladoras de la gente.
En las obras citadas encuentro un punto de coincidencia: la religión es la causa de todos los males de la historia. Es madre de guerras, odios, venganzas…..en Abenámar como fuerza destructora de cultura e intolerante con quien no comparta sus puntos de vista; en Falcones como creadora de odio hacia los moriscos. Saramago no se contenta con decir esto de la religión, sino que ataca a la fuente y origen de toda religión que es Dios. Dios es un ser vengativo, destructivo, un “caín”.
Como teloneros me encuentro en el tiempo y en el espacio de estos días, que el alcalde de Rivas (Madrid) elimina del callejero de su pueblo cuatro,-si 4-, iglesias, dejando en solares su ubicación; que la Generalitat quiere quitar el nombre de Navidad y Semana Santa del calendario escolar; que Estrasburgo, invocando el deseo de una persona, dice que el crucifijo en la escuela atenta contra los derechos humanos….
La verdad que uno, con los mejores deseos de tolerancia, de respeto al distinto; con todos los esfuerzos hechos durante años por vivir una fe sin imposiciones, dialogada con el mundo, queda fuera de juego.
En medio de todo este , a veces, sin sentido, pienso que los creyentes tenemos también nuestra responsabilidad. Muchas de estas iniciativas obedecen, no sólo a mentes obsesionadas desde posturas laicistas, sino a la actitud fundamentalista y retrógrada de muchos grupos cristianos. Es claro que muchas veces en nuestra vida actuamos más que por convicción, por reacción contra.
En estos momentos en que se han metido en la coctelera ingredientes tan distintos: fe, laicismo, pluralismo, minorías, derechos, iglesia, alianza de civilizaciones…..puede salirnos un batido un tanto indigesto, sino sabemos agitarlo convenientemente.
La historia es lo suficientemente compleja para que la tratemos seriamente y no como arma arrojadiza, pero también lo suficientemente elocuente como para que los cristianos vayamos por la vida con humildad y espíritu evangélico.
Frente a los ladridos y los ataques , no es la piedra lo que defiende, sino el diálogo serio; el reconocimiento de los errores y , ¿por qué no?, poner de relieve lo mucho positivo que tiene también la historia del cristianismo.
