Sábado santo
El día más triste, más anodino, más oscuro. Día de sepulcro. Día de luto riguroso. Jesús ya no está visible; al menos, en la cruz, aunque muerto o a punto de expirar, veíamos su rostro ensangrentado por la corona de espinas; veíamos su costado, abierto por la lanza del soldado; veíamos sus manos y sus pies, traspasados por los clavos; veíamos su cuerpo desnudo con las huellas aún frescas de la flagelación. Pero la tierra, en lo profundo de la roca horadada, lo ha ocultado; lo ha escondido como se esconde y oculta lo feo y desagradable que hiere nuestra mirada. La negra noche, en las entrañas del sepulcro, destruye la imagen “del que traspasaron”. La cruz, instrumento de tortura, habrá sido echada al fuego, o reciclada para algún forajido o zelote rebelde. Ya no queda rastro de aquella muerte infame del “más hermoso entre los hijos de los hombres”. Sólo queda esperar con esperanza a que el grano de trigo sembrado en la tierra, florezca en una espiga de resurrección. Pero entretanto, es el silencio de los muertos, y el silencio de los corazones arrugados por el mayor dolor de sus seguidores… y de su Madre.
Ahora son las entrañas de la tierra las que guardan el tesoro más valioso. Ojalá que sepamos encontrarlo en medio del campo de la vida, seamos vender tdo lo que tenemos para alcanzar ese tesoro.
En la Iglesia primitiva el Sábado Santo era conocido como el Grandioso o Gran Sábado, que, después, se llamó “sábado de gloria” porque se adelantaba la celebración de la Resurrección. Con la liturgia renovada, este sábado es totalmente alitúrgico, hasta la media noche en que las campanas anuncian que la muerte ha sido vencida, y el canto del Aleluya alegra los corazones porque es la Pascua del Señor, la Pascua Florida. Durará la celebración de la Pascua durante 50 días, y culminará con la Pascua Granada, en la Venida de Pentecostés.
También los domingos serán “días de Pascua”, porque fue un domingo, el “primer día de la semana” según los judíos, a la hora del alba, cuando Jesús salió victorioso del sepulcro. Los sellos del cofre de roca que guardaba celosamente los restos del Crucificado, se rompieron para dar paso a la Resurrección. El Padre no le falló a su Hijo, ni nos fallará a nosotros que esperamos, también la resurrección de los muertos. Sin dicha resurrección la muerte tendría la última palabra para el hombre; ¿habría Dios fallado en sus pronósticos?
