Cuarta “Carta a Dios”, en Adviento
“Vuelvo a escribirte en este cuarto domingo de Adviento. Aquí hace tiempo que todo respira fiesta. Cada año se adelanta más. Pero sé que eso no es todavía tu fiesta de Navidad. Es la fiesta del comercio, del dinero, y del gasto.
Claro que en mi barrio no se nota mucho. No hay árboles iluminados, ni luces en las calles; eso ocurre en el centro de la ciudad. En mi barrio siempre estamos lo mismo, porque aquí no hay grandes comercios con juguetes caros; y las pequeñas tiendas siguen vendiendo lo de siempre. Es verdad que si entras en las casas te enteras de que ya se están reservando los juguetes, y se han preparado algunos gastos extraordinarios (algunas familias, más de lo que pueden).
Sí que se nota en el ambiente una especie de alegría desacostumbrada, como si algo grande se acerca.
Lo primero que quiero decirte, Dios, es que la Navidad es para mucha gente motivo de cierta tristeza, de mucha nostalgia, de recuerdo más felices de la infancia, y también de recuerdo de los que faltan. Tal vez sea porque damos más importancia al jolgorio que a lo que significa la Navidad. Este año celebramos tu aniversario 2012.
¡Cuánto tiempo hace que viniste al mundo!, y sin embargo que poco caso te hacemos. Sigue la diferencia entre ricos y pobres (y cada vez se aumenta más la diferencia); siguen los hombres matándose en las guerras; sigue la indiferencia de unos con otros… siguen tantas cosas que debieran estar ya superadas. Casi da un poco de vergüenza celebrar la Navidad con tanta fiesta.
Yo he reflexionado un poco más estos días, sobre lo que es la Navidad. Y me he dado cuenta de que sé muchas cosas sobre la Navidad. Pero me falta una cosa:”Hacer Navidad”. María hizo “encuentro”, porque salió, llevando dentro la semilla de Dos encarnado, hacia donde la necesitaban. Por eso hubo Navidad en casa de Isabel.
Hoy, en vez de ir nosotros a la gente, donde están los necesitados, lo hemos cambiado por otra cosa que ya ha hecho costumbre: los regalos para los cercanos, para los amigos. Es más fácil organizar “cenas de caridad, rifas, loterías, zambombas benéficas para sacar dinero para los demás. Por eso digo que “festejamos la Navidad”, pero ya “no hacemos Navidad”.
Querido Dios, ya que tu quisiste hacerte como nosotros, ayúdanos a que nosotros seamos un poco como tú. Ya que tú te has hecho “Dios-con-nosotros, ayúdanos a que nosotros seamos hombres y mujeres “para-los-demás”.
