Honradez y Política
Ni todos los políticos son corruptos (cómo afirman algunos), ni todos son honrados (como es patente). A cada cual lo suyo, y no es bueno ni justo generalizar en este tema.
Conozco a políticos, personalmente, que han sido y son honrados en grado sumo. Y todos conocemos (al menos por los medios de comunicación) a políticos que han sido y son corruptos, aprovechados, y faltos de honradez.
No en todas las familias hay un “garbanzo negro”. Pero los hay en algunas. En los partidos y en las familias con cargos públicos, hay de todo, como en botica.
Además de lo que tiene de deshonra para la persona, indica una falta de sensibilidad social, un egoísmo impropio de un servidor público, y una considerable falta de ética.
Muchos piensan que la honradez en los políticos y cargos públicos es una “rara avis”. Yo creo que no lo es tanto; pero la gente es propensa a exagerar o generalizar los defectos de ciertas profesiones.
La buena o mala salud de una sociedad, creo que puede medirse por la tolerancia o no de la corrupción. Cuando en un país hay mucha corrupción es que la sociedad está enferma, y es incapaz de reaccionar ante esa depravación.
En España, dormida hasta hace poco ante la corrupción, se empieza ya a protestar y reaccionar contra ella. Especialmente en los medios de comunicación: TV, prensa, etc. Y la indignación sube de grados cuanto más alto haya sido el puesto público que abusa de su situación privilegiada.
La política debería ser un ejercicio de “arte mayor”, por su importancia y por sus consecuencias. Porque afecta a los ciudadanos.
“Política viene etimológicamente del latín “politicus” y ésta del griego “πολιτικός” (“politikós”), que significa “de los ciudadanos” o “del Estado”, siendo el adjetivo de “πόλις” (“pólis”) que significa “ciudad”, pero, también, “Estado” ya que la ciudad en la Grecia clásica era la única unidad estatal existente (hasta la época de los macedonios, quienes lograron unir Grecia bajo un reino)”. Por tanto, afecta directamente a los ciudadanos.
