El Dios en quien no creo
Recuerdo que hace tiempo escribí unos versos sobre Dios: el Dios en quien creo, y el dios en quien no creo. Hoy me vienen, nuevamente, a la mente.. Y quiero citar algunos de los versos. Cómo me imagino a Dios, ese Dios del que nada o casi nada sé, pero en el que quiero pensar cómo será y cómo no será.
Cuando me imagino a Dios,
al Dios que sólo deseo,
me pregunto preocupado,
si Dios será mi barquero
que me pase a la otra orilla
sin pagar al aduanero.
A ese Dios sí que lo acepto
y nunca le tendré miedo,
porque es el Dios que me espera,
con sus dos brazos abiertos,
al pie del embarcadero
Pero si aquel que me espera
es el dios de los banqueros,
el dios de aquellos que mandan
y que abusan de los pueblos,
el dios de todo el que explota
a los pobres, por dinero,
o el dios de aquel cura viejo
que nos mandaba al infierno,
a ese dios yo no lo quiero.
Se puede quedar en casa,
al calor de su brasero,
y que no salga a esperarme,
porque en ese dios no creo.

Y Dios
era del hombre
como el agua y el viento.
Ahora, como el oro, sólo es de unos cuantos señores.
Y no bendice al justo.
Bendice la rapiña,
la traición,
la trilita de los aviones…
Y hay un señor en Roma
que pone el visto bueno a estas bendiciones.
Oídme bien, hijos míos,
oídme bien. Yo no soy
un profesor de odio.
Quisiera ser un profesor
de amor.
Y no sé si vosotros
sois hijos del carpintero o del Dictador.
Sé que todos, todos los que me oís,
sois hijos legítimos de Dios.
Y os digo finalmente,
para acabar esta lección,
y en un tono sencillo,
sin demagogia y sin rencor,
que a unos hombres ayer
otros hombres nos lo robaron todo…
la patria, el esfuerzo y la canción.
Y que hoy
esos mismos hombres, hijos míos,
nos han robado a Dios.
