¿Ya no existe Dios?
La pregunta parece extraña, y casi irreverente. Pero no es ni una cosa, ni la otra. Es una realidad. Una realidad sangrante, absurda, y casi de moda.
Es una realidad sangrante, porque sin Dios estamos huérfanos, perdidos en un universo, cuyo rumbo no está en nuestras manos, sin normas de moralidad y con un destino incierto.
Es absurda, porque deja de haber respuestas a tanta preguntas, porque quedamos a expensas de la suerte, porque somos privados de trascendencia, de espiritualidad, porque todo queda reducido a la materia.
Y está de moda, como están de moda las pasarelas que insinúan las tendencias, como está de moda presumir de ser autosuficiente, como está de moda querer vivir sin ataduras que vengan de fuera.
Dios ya no existe. El Dios de Abrahán, Isaac y Jacob, ha muerto (lo han matado); el Dios de Jesucristo se ha hecho añicos, como un espejo roto. Y de los mil trozos del espejo, se han creado otros tantos dioses (con minúscula), a los que adoramos, veneramos y obedecemos. Y estos dioses tienen nombre; se llaman: fútbol, dinero, fama, prestigio, poder, libertinaje, independencia, etc.
Sólo hay que observar las muchedumbres saliendo los domingos de los diversos estadios; las triquiñuelas y engaños para enriquecerse de manera deshonesta; las mentiras para lograr fama y prestigio; la lucha por mandar; el no querer someterse a las normas…
Esa es una gran parte de la sociedad que hemos creado, que vive como si Dios ya no existiera; que se hace la ilusión de que puede nombrar y crear sus propios dioses.
Pero Dios sigue existiendo, y sigue pendiente de la felicidad de los humanos, aunque los humanos no lo sepan o no lo quieran aceptar. Y de ahí surgen tantos desequilibrios, tantas depresiones, tantas luchas, tanto desorden y tanta infelicidad.
Porque como decía San Agustín de Hipona: “Nos has creado, Señor, para Ti, y nuestro corazón está inquieto hasta que descanse en Ti”
